FAQs
What time should I arrive?
1
Our ceremony will begin at 1.30pm in the gardens at Burtown House, so we’d love everyone settled in good time before then. Come along, grab a drink, a tea or whatever-you’re-havin’-yourself, listen to some music, soak up the grounds.
After the ceremony, there’ll be drinks, music, dinner, speeches, and dancing into the night, all on site.
What should I wear?
2
Think summer wedding rather than black tie.
We’ll be outside for parts of the day, including the ceremony and drinks reception in the gardens, so we’d recommend footwear that’s happy on grass, gravel,, garden paths and dance floors.
Will there be transport afterwards?
3
Yes. Late night coaches will be running to and from our recommended hotels at midnight and 2am, and there are plenty of local taxis in the area too.
You can find more details on our Transport page.
Will the wedding be outdoors?
4
Parts of the day will be outdoors, including the ceremony and drinks reception, weather permitting.
We’re embracing the gardens, the flowers, the summer air, and the fact that this is Ireland after all.
Can I bring a plus one or my children?
5
Burtown House is a beautiful but intimate venue, and we were very tight on numbers throughout planning.
If a plus one or children are included, they’ll be named on your invitation. We hope everyone understands. (We love all your kids, we swear.)
Do you have a gift list?
6
Rather than a traditional gift list, we’re planning a post wedding trip back to Iceland, a place woven through so many chapters of our story together.
For anyone who has asked about gifts, contributions towards that adventure would be deeply appreciated.
